Dentures
Forget What You Think You Know About Dentures. Our South Park Dentures Stay Put No Matter What.
If you are missing several teeth, you may suffer from a number of disadvantages. Candidates for dentures often experience:
- Inability to bite into favorite foods, like steak.
- Inability to eat fresh, crunchy fruits and vegetables, resulting in a poor diet.
- Inability to articulate words clearly.
- Self-consciousness and embarrassment, especially at mealtimes.
- An older appearance, due to lack of supporting tooth structure.
With South Park dentures, you can significantly improve your quality of life and eat, chew, and communicate like you used to. Our compassionate dentists can help you find dentures that are affordable, well-fitting, and suitable for your preference and lifestyle.
Types of Dentures
Dentures are custom-made in a dental laboratory from impressions taken of your mouth. Your South Charlotte dentist will determine which of these three types of dentures are best for you.
- Conventional Full Dentures
Conventional full dentures are used to replace all of the teeth. They are placed in your mouth after any remaining teeth have been removed. Healing may take several months, during which time you will be without teeth. - Immediate Full Dentures
Immediate full dentures also replace all of the teeth, but they are inserted immediately after the remaining teeth are removed. While immediate dentures offer the benefit of never having to be without your teeth, they must be relined several months after being inserted, because they will likely become loose as the bone heals. - Partial Dentures
Partial dentures look a little like orthodontic retainers. They rest on a metal framework that attaches to your natural teeth. Sometimes crowns are placed on some of your natural teeth to serve as anchors for the denture. Partial dentures are a less-invasive, removable alternative to dental bridges.
